The holiday season is finally upon us, and Texans are ready to celebrate BIG for the most wonderful time of the year. Families, friends, neighbors, and residents of nearby Wildcat Ranch love to gather at an abundance of events across Dallas. From festivals and concerts to parades and marathons, discover some of the area’s most anticipated local holiday traditions.

1.) November 9 – December 31: Holiday at the Arboretum

According to Southern Living Magazine, one of Texas’s best Christmas events is the Holiday at Arboretum. Stroll through the botanical gardens to see the 25-foot-tall Victorian-style gazebos, decorated to represent each of the 12 Days of Christmas. At night, the gardens come to life with more than a million lights, a Christmas Village, and a dazzling musical tree.

2.) November 19 – January 2: Dallas Zoo Lights

On select nights through the holiday season, the drive-through Dallas Zoo Lights event features more than a million lights, holiday-themed displays, and 3-D lighted animal sculptures. Make sure to tune into the zoo’s radio station while driving through to hear holiday tunes in sync with the lights.

3.) November 26 – January 2: Enchant

Enchant, the whimsical Christmas light maze and village, has announced its return to Fair Park for the winter season. Adventures at this Christmas wonderland include a light maze, an illuminated ice-skating trail, an artisan’s market, and gourmet holiday treats from around the world.

4.) December 3 – 12: Dallas Symphony Christmas Pops

The Dallas Symphony Orchestra and Chorus is back with its beloved holiday tradition, Christmas Pops. This week-long run at the Meyerson Symphony Center features classic holiday favorites, sing-along carols, and even a bit of snow.

5.) December 3 – 4: Kaufman County Christmas Market

Support artists from the Dallas community at the 7th Annual Christmas Market. This two-day event at the Kaufman Civic Center features everything from home décor to homemade jewelry and clothing. Get your holiday shopping done early at this local market!

6.) December 4: Lighted Christmas Parade

After enjoying the Christmas Market, the Kaufman Civic Center will also be hosting a Lighted Christmas Parade. Starting at 6 p.m., experience the unforgettable parade floats that follow this year’s theme – “How the Grinch Stole Kaufman”.

7.) December 5: Holiday at the Ranch

The Wildcat Ranch HOA Social Committee invites Members of the community to celebrate the holiday with Cowboy Kringle and his Reindeer. Enjoy Christmas carols, with hot chocolate and cookies or take a ride on the mini-Christmas train. BBQ from Pit Boss will be available from 2pm to 4pm.

8.) December 10 – 12: BMW Dallas Marathon Festival

Celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, the BMW Dallas Marathon is one of Dallas’s longest-running and most participated holiday traditions. The weekend festival includes a 5K, 10K, Kid’s Race and the 26.2-mile marathon across the city’s most vibrant neighborhoods.

9.) December 18: Lightwire Theatre’s A Very Special Electric Christmas

Hosted at Strauss Square, audiences of all ages will treasure the magical story of “A Very Special Electric Christmas”. This lights-only production is a captivating tale set to timeless holiday hits, including Nat King Cole, Mariah Carey and Tchaikovsky.

10.) December 22: Trans-Siberian Orchestra

The Trans-Siberian Orchestra will be back at the American Airlines Center to perform The Ghosts of Christmas Eve. With two shows on the 22nd – one at 3 p.m. and one at 8 p.m. – this 25th-anniversary performance is something you won’t want to miss!

11.) December 30 – January 1: Lights All Night Festival

As the longest-running EDM festival in Dallas, music enthusiasts love attending the Lights All Night Festival. Top-notch productions and light shows will have music fans dancing their way into the new year.
