Companies like Bestow, Xcelerate Auto, and the Texas Blockchain Council have all moved headquarters from other parts of Texas to be more centrally located within downtown Dallas. Three other out-of-state companies reliant on engineering talent have relocated to Dallas/Fort Worth as well, including California-based MD7 and North Carolina-based EXOS Aerospace. AECOM has also moved HQ from Los Angeles to Dallas, making it the sixth Fortune 500 company to relocate to the area in the past six years.

Future Forecast

With the continued influx of engineering companies and the supporting jobs they bring, Dallas/Fort Worth has set the stage for continued growth and expansion. According to U.S. Census Data, the Dallas-Fort Worth area population has grown by 20% since 2010 with Dallas ranked # 9 out of the 10 largest cities in 2020. The Dallas/ Fort Worth area is projected to grow 17% by 2030, adding at least 500,000 more people within the two cities.
