Picking a new home is a big thing in a family’s life. While parents have a list of things that they need, such as enough space to host holiday parties and close proximity to work and top-rated schools, kids have their own needs that a home needs to satisfy. When viewing homes, families should consider factors such as how close it is to a school, how much room there is for pets, and how they could see their family growing in it. Check out some of the other common suggestions below!

Imaginative Play Area

The playground is a great way for kids to burn energy and meet new friends while parents get to take a break, but they play an important role in a kid’s growth, as well. Any child development expert could tell you that at a playground, children learn social skills, stretch out their muscles, and develop eye-hand coordination. Every neighborhood needs one!

Parks and Trails

With the demands of school getting bigger and technology coming up with more distractions, the time that a kid spends outside is shrinking drastically. That’s why it’s important to live in a neighborhood where it’s easier for kids to get out and move around. Getting outdoors is an essential part of growing up. Outside is where imagination can take over. Parks and trails are an important part of this, serving as a place for children to have their own adventures, explore the natural world, and have fun in the fresh air.

Super Swimming Pools

Come summertime, everyone needs somewhere to cool off! What’s better than splashing around in a pool? Parents might want to catch up on their tans, but for kids, a swimming pool is the ultimate social spot. Whether it’s part of the community’s offerings, or it’s right in the backyard, no one can go wrong with a pool.

Not Too Far from Friends

Part of the reason why the early childhood years are so important is because children are forming the relationships that they’ll carry throughout life. A great neighborhood should be able to help foster these relationships. Sidewalks open up a whole world to kids, from letting them ride bikes down the way to a friend’s house to giving them an open canvas for chalk art. Parks give them space to play in. Wildcat Ranch in Crandall, Texas, even has a school on-site, so not only are kids close to their education, they’re also close to their friends as well.

Room for Rover

No need to leave furry friends out of the fun – a home should have plenty of space for pets. After all, they’re family too, and their needs to be respected as well. That means a big backyard to run around in, plenty of parks and trails to take a walk to, and a separate space for them to lay their head (and tear up their toys).

With the passing of summer break, the days grow shorter and the focus shifts to the new school year. Many parents seek to provide their children with one of the finest educations that money can buy outside of private school, in an environment that is safe and perfect for developing minds. Crandall is proud to provide families one of the best school districts in the State of Texas – the Crandall Independent School District. With eight campuses, over 4,500 students, and a great approach to education, CISD has been the first choice for many families who live in Kaufman County. So what’s going on at the Best School In Texas? Here’s what parents should know for their students to have a successful school year.

The Crandall Independent School District was created on February 28, 1901 when residents gathered together to vote for a public school in the community. Two years later, the first building in the Crandall ISD was built. Over a hundred years later, the district has grown and its teachers have impacted the lives of thousands of students, and continues to educate and empower students intellectually, socially, and physically from Pre-Kindergarten to 12th Grade.

The district has a Transparency Star designation from the Texas Comptroller for financial transparency. It is a 4-A District that proudly hosts a variety of programs to support students, from Head Start to online enrollment to accommodate families. It holds a B- rating on Niche, which also gives it a 98% graduation rate. Students have received a variety of scholarships from CISD, including the Crandall MS/HS PTO Scholarship. Teachers even support students and the area by hosting meet and greets at Neighborhood Night or by handing out supplies at the Back To School Supply Drive.

Crandall is a highly sought after community to live in because of the multiple highly ranked schools within the area. One of the many schools in the district is the brand new Noble Reed Elementary School. Named after two former teachers who have impacted lives in a positive way, Noble Reed is prepared to establish great connections between students, their families, and their living space. One neighborhood in particular is positively affected by the presence of the new elementary school – after all, the school is located right within its boundaries. The families of Kaufman County’s newest neighborhood, Wildcat Ranch, get to enjoy having the school right outside of their backyards, and a great place to lie within them. What makes Wildcat Ranch so unique is that when school lets out, kids can enjoy having some of the best parks, trails, and amenities to enjoy. Furthermore, parents will especially love living in an environment small enough to raise a family in, but big enough for kids to run around, learn, and grow in.
