The DFW area has history galore (including the famous JFK assassination site), art museums, aquariums, sculpture centers, and more.

1. Visit the Amon Carter Museum

Spring Break at the Amon Center features conversations about American art and artists. Enjoy art projects, creativity challenges, gallery games, food trucks, lawn games, and more throughout the afternoon. Be prepared to create, compete, and consider American art in a new way.

2. See the Spring Blooms at the Dallas Arboretum

There’s no need to break the bank on your Spring Break activities. Admission to the Dallas Arboretum is only $10 for children ages 3-12 and free for kids under 3. Pack a picnic lunch (bringing your own food will save a ton of money). The kids can play on the Texas-themed playground in teepees and mud huts down by the lake. Bring the camera for photos among half a million blooming tulips, daffodils, pansies, and azaleas during Dallas Blooms. The bridge in front of one of the cottages is the perfect place for your official Easter photo.

3. Tour the Dallas Museum of Art

It’s Art Madness at the DMA! Enjoy an action-packed week of art-making activities, family tours, storytimes, and team gallery competitions for families.

4. Check Out The Fish at the Dallas World Aquarium

The Dallas World Aquarium is an incredible attraction and the perfect adventure for kids of any age. The indoor adventure begins at the top of the Orinoco, Secrets of the River rainforest exhibit. The upper levels showcase birds and mammals, ranging in size from small Vampire bats to large Antillean manatees, that share the rainforest with amphibians, reptiles, invertebrates, and fish.

5. Explore the Dallas Zoo

Check out the lions, tigers, and bears (oh my) on the 20-minute monorail safari through the Wilds of Africa exhibit. You wanna iguana? Experience one of the best reptile and amphibian exhibits in the U.S. in the Pierre A. Fontaine Bird & Reptile Building. Other exhibits include the Simmons Hippo Outpost and the Elephants on the Savanna.

6. Play Games at Dave and Buster’s

Dave and Buster’s contains numerous electronic, skill and sports-oriented games. There are many simulator games such as formula race cars, fighter jets, and motorcycles, as well as a golf simulator. You’ll also find retro favorites like Ms. Pacman and Galaga, plus shuffleboard and billiards.

7. Hit the Waterpark at Great Wolf Lodge

It doesn’t matter what the temperature or weather is in the Metroplex, this resort’s gigantic indoor waterpark is always 84 degrees. Everything you need for the perfect Spring Break is here. You will find themed restaurants, interactive arcades, ​full-service spas (and even a version for kids), fitness centers, and special spring break activities for the kids. 9. See the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History

This museum is perfect for kids who love history. Check out the planetarium or catch “Flight of the Butterflies” or “Coral Reef Adventure” in the Omni Theater, an IMAX dome.

10. Explore the Fossil Rim Wildlife Center

Explore the rugged beauty and discover a sanctuary for endangered species. You can purchase feed for the animals and snacks for yourself and avoid the crowds and feed all the exotics early. Be in line at 9:00 a.m. and receive a free bag of feed. Greet the wild residents during breakfast. See how playful they are early in the morning and you can avoid the Spring Break crowds.

11. Play Games at Main Event

How about a game of adrenaline-pumping laser tag or indoor climbing in Texas’ only indoor gravity ropes course? This unique entertainment complex also offers rock climbing, bowling, billiards, arcade, and other activities.

12. Visit the Perot Museum of Nature and Science

The Perot Museum of Nature and Science is located in Victory Park, near Downtown Dallas is incredible. It’s very interactive. Kids of all ages will enjoy it.
