The Crandall Independent School District was created on February 28, 1901 when residents gathered together to vote for a public school in the community. Two years later, the first building in the Crandall ISD was built. Over a hundred years later, the district has grown and its teachers have impacted the lives of thousands of students, and continues to educate and empower students intellectually, socially, and physically from Pre-Kindergarten to 12th Grade.

The district has a Transparency Star designation from the Texas Comptroller for financial transparency. It holds a B- rating on Niche, which also gives it a 98% graduation rate. Students have received a variety of scholarships from CISD, including the Crandall MS/HS PTO Scholarship.
